Should FemiNuremberg have a white background?

Most websites, including YouTube, have a white background. Apparently that's what most viewers on the internet prefer, since white contrasts the most with black text, which makes it easier to read.

As you have noticed, FemiNuremberg has a kind of layout where the background within the heading is purple with white text, and the background showing the main content, is a very light shade of brown and pink mixed together, which still makes black text very easy to read. The fixed menu bar on top, is purple. Everywhere else on the page is black. I thought this type of contrast was nice looking since it sort of gives FemiNuremberg a 'light at night' vibe and makes it look unique compared to other sites. I had this layout ever since this site was just a forum. I maintained it when it became a video-hosting platform as it is right now.

Do you prefer this, or do you like the site the way it is?

Eventually, this site will have an option to change the background to your liking. There will be an option for the background right now, a white background, and a dark background, in the settings.

What I'm concerned about is the 'default' background people prefer.


