There's a widespread belief that eating too much salt is the main reason for high blood pressure.
It is often recommended that you eat less than 1500 mg of sodium a day.
You don't have to restrict your salt that much. Just significantly reduce your sugar and carbohydrate intake.
Higher carb consumption causes more sodium retention which amplifies the effect sodium has on your blood pressure, so you need to ditch the bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and the sweets.
Other things you can do to lower your blood pressure are exercise, eating more natural alkaline-forming foods, eating a diet with a good omega 3 to 6 ratio(at least 1g of omega 3 for every 4g of omega 6), and eating raw garlic.
