Texas wants to ban speech about abortion and seeks to enforce it with a bouty law

Texas proposes a bill to ban information discussing abortion access and they seek to reward snitches who bring lawsuits against offenders with a 100.000 dollar reward.

This law is directly opposing free speech, women's rights and science.

UPDATE May 8, 2025: A committee substitute of SB 2880 passed the Texas Senate on April 30, 2025, with the provisions related to interactive computer services and providing information on how to obtain an abortion-inducing drug removed. These provisions, however, currently remain in the House version of the bill, HB 5510.


