Why is male and female sexuality so fundamentally different if we're the same species?

I know this sounds like a dumb question the way I worded it, but I'm asking why is it that men are more destructive with their sexual impulses? Why are women more restrained and seem to have evolved to not be fixated on sex compared to men. I'm a man and I have seem to have accepted I am ruled by the visual center in my brain and while I can refuse to act on my impulses, it doesn't change the fact that the impulses still exist. My older sister is a lesbian and we sat down and talked about this last week. My sister admitted that of course she had some pretty gross desires for other women, but she said she isn't a man and is more focused on being intimate with her wife; as opposed to gay men in hookups who still view sex as a dominance and submissive game.

My sister says whenever she has those primitive thoughts, she decides to focus more on the intimate aspect of sex rather than the raw animal stimuli version of sex that humans have had for millions of years. My sister said before she got married, she was grossed out by her sexuality, she said she would be ashamed checking out other girls in public and viewed it as wrong even though it was as if she never had a choice in the matter. Most gay men and straight men feed into these desires, it seems women aren't really weak to this old trick the brain plays on us.


