Apparently about 150 people died and these articles I'm reading are basically saying things along the lines of "so many people were crushed by a crowd when they rushed in an alleyway during a Halloween party" or something. How can a rushing 'crowd' cause so many people to die by being crushed, or am I reading this wrong? 150+ is way more deaths than any mass shooting or vehicular accident I have heard about.
I don't understand what happened. I have always understood news stories where people die. It can be due to a shooting, a car crash, a fire, an earthquake, a tornado, an avalanche and so on. However, this time, I don't understand what they are talking about. Can someone explain?
RIP to the victims though.
