I don't watch or participate in porn, I've never supported a dark industry. I only know that in more recent years, you can sell yourself and don't need a studio to exploit you. If we ignore the business aspects involving porn, it's obvious that both women and men have sexual desires. I wish I was a lesbian at times, I wasn't born that way and I can't imagine being a gay woman in the 80s and not having an outlet to express my true feelings. I went to school in the 80s and 90s, being a gay woman wasn't socially accepted; I've known girls in high school beat up if it were ever found out they were homosexuals.
I have a few lesbian friends from school I keep in touch with, they're vehemently anti-porn now, but in their younger years they were convinced they needed porn to satisfy themselves and pretend to be straight again. One of my facebook friends from high school used to buy playboy, also used to visit discreet locations for women only hookups. My friend isn't proud of this now, but in her teens and 20s, this is what she had to do to get by. Now she is married to her wife and doesn't have to worry anymore, but she still believes she abused other women by sexually exploiting them for her gratification.
I don't forgive men who drive the porn industry, but I feel bad for lesbians who were in the closet and needed something to comfort themselves.
